Child abuse and other violence situations are indeed, very traumatic experiences. Survivors are usually left scarred and traumatized for a large part of their lives and for some, for the rest of their lives. This is already so much for an individual to handle, therefore, they need all the support they can get.

Support from friends and family can go a long way in helping victims recover faster from abuse. It also helps to keep their mental health in check. Here are few ways to support abuse victims:

-Be supportive and listen
-Avoid blaming and shaming
-Do not be judgmental
-Encourage them to seek professional help

Offer gestures that help them feel safer and not alone, like holding their hands and so on.
